Purebred Herdsires
Ah, bucks.
We thought long and hard about whether not to bring a full fledged buck onto our small homestead (a blog post about that later). Needless to say, we welcomed out first herdsire to Lost Acre Homestead on December 24th of 2019 , Merry Christmas to me! Since then we always have at least one purebred herd sire to service our girls and other local farms.

Von Robbin (AKA ROBIN)
ADGA Registration #N__________
Sire:
Dam:
Robin comes from southern Virginia from a closed herd of Nubian dairy goats with excellent milking lines, known for high milk production! He was born in April 2020 and has officially entered his first breeding season.
His sire pictured below had some gorgeous moonspots and his dam had a high capacity udder with great teat structure for high volume milking.
We’re excited to see what type of kids this gorgeous boy puts out!

RETIRED!!!
Bad Chicken Ranch SR Lionheart (AKA PETER)
ADGA Registration #L1945196
Sire: Honey Road Zephyr
Dam: S-Stock Exchange Painted Lady
Oh Peter, Peter, Peter. What to say about this silly boy. He’s was of excellent breeding stock and a phenomenal herdsire, and performed really well on a lead as he was a 4H project goat before coming to our homestead.
We were sad to see him go, but are extremely excited for our purebred Nubian breeding program!
